The S-Bar-S Building Center’s full-service lumber yard is where you can find dimensional lumber in sizes ranging from 1 x 2 up to 1 x 8, and 2 x 4 up to 2 x 12 in various lengths. We also carry pressure treated lumber in 2 x 4, 2 x 6, and 2 x 8 in several lengths, as well as 4 X 4 in 8 ft. and 12 ft. lengths. If you are looking for a specific size that we do not stock, we can usually get it for you.
We are the only lumber yard on the east end of Billings that is open on Sundays.
We also stock several styles of interior and exterior trim and molding, with even more options available through our distributors. If there is something you don’t see in our yard, we will work with our many distributors to get you the products you need.

S Bar S Building Center also sells a wide range of sheet goods including AC plywood in 3/8 inch and 1/4 inch, as well as 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, and 3/4 inch CDX plywood. We stock 7/16 inch and 5/8 inch OSB (chipboard), hardboard, 1/2 inch and 5/8 inch sheetrock, mold-resistant sheetrock, and 4 x 8 sheets of pegboard.
S Bar S is one of the few local suppliers of cedar split-rail fencing in the Billings area. We consistently stock two-hole split rail corner posts, line posts, end posts, and 10 ft. cedar rails.
Three-hole cedar split rail is also available via special orders.
S-Bar-S sells a wide range of fencing materials including treated set posts and drive posts in 4, 5, 6, and 8-inch diameters and 6-1/2 and 8 ft. lengths.
We also stock 3-inch fence rails in 8, 10, 12, and 16 ft. lengths and both barbed wire and barbless wire. And you can purchase 5-1/2 ft.and 6 ft., #1.25 metal T-posts if that better suits your fencing needs.
S-Bar-S is the convenient place to buy your drywall and taping products. We sell 4×8 sheets of 1/2″ and 5/8″ drywall along with 1/2″ mold-resistant drywall (green board). We can get other sizes to better accommodate specific jobs, and sheetrock delivery is available.
When it comes to sack mix, we supply 60 lb. bags of Quickrete Ready-to-use Concrete Mix. If you need your cement to cure a bit faster, we sell Quickrete Fast-setting Concrete in 50 lb. bags and we have 47 lb bags of Portland Cement for a wide variety of applications.
In addition to ready-mix concrete, Mortar Mix is stocked on hand in 80 lb. bags for masonry work and S-Bar-S is the place to buy 50 lb. bags of Big Horn Bentonite, a Wyo-Ben Inc. product.
During the winter months, we’re always sure to have 60 lb. traction sand tubes on hand, as well.
There are many other building products that S-Bar-S Building Center carries such as masonite siding in 4×8 sheets or 12″ x 16′ long planks. You can also buy full sheets of masonite hardboard and pegboard, 4×8 sheets of foam insulation and blue board, as well as rolled, fiberglass insulation.
We are also the place to purchase Trex synthetic decking materials and railing systems.
And if there is something we do not stock on a regular basis, such as window wells or exterior doors, let us know what you’re looking for and we will do what we can to get them for you in a timely manner.
Locally owned and operated for over 45 years, the S-Bar-S lumber yard is the only lumber yard on the east end of Billings open seven days a week (Summer hours only).
